How Monitored Alarms Work
When your alarm is triggered, a signal is sent immediately to our NSI-approved ARC via a dedicated communications path — either digital communicator, GPRS or dual-path signalling for maximum reliability. ARC operators follow a strict response protocol: they verify the alarm, contact your keyholders, and if necessary request a police response under the URN (Unique Reference Number) scheme.
Unlike unmonitored bells-only alarms that rely on neighbours noticing and acting, monitored systems guarantee a professional response every time. This distinction matters enormously in London, where alarm fatigue means neighbours often ignore bell-only alarms entirely.
Insurance Requirements
The majority of London home insurers now require a monitored alarm system — installed by an NSI or SSAIB-approved company — as a condition of their policy. Without the correct certification, you risk a policy being invalidated at the point of claim. All Sure Alarms monitored systems come with a full commissioning certificate that satisfies these requirements.
Monitoring Contract Options
We offer flexible 12-month and 24-month ARC monitoring contracts. Our monitoring service uses a redundant, NSI-approved ARC with multiple communication paths, ensuring no single point of failure. All monitoring contracts include a full annual service visit to ensure your system remains compliant.
